All Box stems are designed and manufactured using our Oversized technology. Following the load paths along the handlebars, we focused our attention on the pivot/bar interface. As Oversized handlebars have increased wall thickness and tube diameter in this area, we responded by increasing the pivot interface with greater surface area. We achieved this by moving material from areas of low stress. This greatly reduced twist and helped with responsiveness. By attaching the pivot to the handlebars, we have helped to increase pedaling rigidity by providing a stop to this "lift" phenomenon. There's no point pushing hard on your pedals if you can't pull back on your handlebars and deliver that power. Power can easily be lost due to deflection between the handlebar and pivot, and the consequences can be poor power transmission and steering control. Combined with other Box Oversized components, you will feel increased responsiveness.

Key differences: In this particular stem model, we have adapted the Oversized strategy to prioritize utility and accessibility. The geometry has been modified to allow easy removal of the handlebars while still recovering material in low stress areas. Ideal for those who do not want to compromise user experience to gain performance. These pivots are designed for taller riders.
